Shelter Slumber Pawty, April 18, 2026

For the first time, the Bond County Humane Society is hosting a “Slumber Pawty, Make A Night Count For Shelter Pets” event. It is part of a 24-hour, nationwide fundraising and advocacy activity, presented by Project Bella.

The first-ever “Slumber Pawty” will run from noon April 18th to noon April 19th. Participants can donate to existing teams or sign up to form a team and spend the night at the shelter while sharing their stories and raising critical funds through their personal networks. The event will include food, drinks, games, and time with fellow animal lovers. About six teams have already registered, with more than $1,000 raised so far. It’s not too late to donate, and all contributions help support animal care, as the organization relies entirely on community funding.

Since its start in 2017, Shelter Slumber Pawty has grown from 1 shelter and 13 participants to 56 shelters, 507 participants, and over $1 million raised for homeless animals nationwide.

Curious? Visit the dedicated event fundraising page. Choose a team or participant to support. Make a financial gift. Follow along on our Facebook and Instagram accounts April 18-19th for all the fun!!

Thanks for Supporting Paws ’N The Park 2025

black and tan dog face with text

Thank you 2025 Paws in the Park Sponsors, Volunteers, and Attendees! Our event would not have been paws-sible without you!!!

While Paws in the Park 2025 was cut short Saturday, October 18 at the fairgrounds by a strong thunderstorm, we were still able to enjoy about an hour of activities! Thank you to all who came out early.

Congratulations to our raffle winners; Cutest Pet Photo Winner: Sunny cat submitted by Robyn Hargan; and Best Dressed in the Costume Parade: a gorgeous Great Dane Charlee, with her owner Shawna Henrichsmeyer, portraying a Holstein cow in the Chick-fil-A commercials! Our event coordinator is working on a plan to continue the Silent Auction at another date and place soon.

We’d really appreciate your financial support the remainder of 2025 as Paws is usually our largest fundraiser. Make a donation, bid on an auction, adopt/foster a pet, and spay/neuter your own pets to prevent unwanted litters. Thank you again, pet lovers!

Visit our Facebook Page for photos!! Comment/tag your own photos, too!
